New Hampshire GOP Lawmakers and ALEC.

Who or what is ALEC and why should you care?

Despite, their claim they are a charitable organization. A 503 (c) It’s anything but. This is a special interest group, that has taken over New Hampshire Republican circles, and has woven its way through the political fabric here in New Hampshire.

What ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council) really does, behind closed doors, at a retreat somewhere with taxpayer money, collaborate with Big Corporations and Local Politicians. ALEC decide the bills, to give to the Local State Representatives. Giving them a template to introduce to the State House. All the “Politician” has to do is sign and present it, as if it were their own bill. That’s why common sense laws in this state don’t pass. Special interest groups can’t make money on morality.

So, what we have here are big Corporations, who meet with Politicians and draft bills, that later become laws. Basically, ALEC writes up the bills, and their State Representative simply introduce this as their own. Sounds insane right?

Democratic lawmakers say “This is the worst kept secret in the state.”

From Wikipedia:

“The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is a nonprofit organization of conservative state legislators and private sector representatives who draft and share model state-level legislation for distribution among state governments in the United States.”

Pretty Shady, right?

New Hampshire GOP lawmakers, who are currently members:

A Georgia news station does an expose, and manages to get footage of a New Hampshire Lawmaker bragging about the perks.

Last week with John Oliver, also did a segment on ALEC as well:

Get to know who your local State Representative.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m guilty of voting BLUE down the ballot. However, this sort of legal 501 (c) loophole, is a big deal. Most of the members just happen to be the GOP.

GOP are on the take.

They are pretty funny, when you confront them. However – What the accuse the Democrats of, they are pretty much doing something worse. Having the copy/paste option to pass bills into laws. They are all in on it, and it’s the worst, kept secret in New England.
